Salpingo-oophorectomy

Definition:

An operation to remove the ovaries and the fallopian tubes. A unilateral salpingo-oophorectomy (USO) means only one ovary and fallopian tube is removed, so it may still be possible to become pregnant afterwards, while a bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy (BSO) means both ovaries and fallopian tubes are removed.
